Oregon CCB Commercial Contractor Bond

Commercial CCB endorsements require a surety bond on the commercial CCB form. ORS 701.068 establishes the filing requirement; ORS 701.084 provides the Level 1 / Level 2 and developer amounts currently required.

Who requires it

Applicants and renewing licensees with a commercial CCB endorsement must keep the commercial bond on file. Holding only a residential endorsement does not satisfy commercial work that requires a commercial endorsement—and the reverse is also true.

How much is required

ORS 701.084 establishes the commercial amounts by endorsement. Current CCB materials list: Commercial General Contractor Level 1 $80,000; Commercial Specialty Contractor Level 1 $55,000; Commercial General Contractor Level 2 $25,000; Commercial Specialty Contractor Level 2 $25,000; Commercial Developer $25,000. Older materials that still show $75,000 reflect the pre–January 1, 2024 Level 1 general figure and are not current.

How to get and file it

Order the bond on the current CCB commercial surety bond form from an Oregon-authorized surety. Match the name on the bond to your Oregon business filing, keep the power of attorney attached, and file with the CCB application within 60 days of the surety execution date. The commercial bond stays in force until canceled. Maintain it for as long as the commercial endorsement stays active. If you also hold a residential endorsement, keep that residential bond in force as a separate instrument.

Frequently asked questions

Is $75,000 still the commercial Level 1 general bond amount?

No. That figure matched the old Commercial General Level 1 amount before HB 2922. The current Level 1 general amount is $80,000, and other commercial endorsements use different amounts on the same commercial bond form.
