Missouri Public Adjuster Bond

Missouri public adjusters and public adjuster solicitors must file surety bonds with the Department of Commerce and Insurance as part of licensing. Who requires it

Persons, partnerships, associations, or corporations seeking or holding a public adjuster or public adjuster solicitor license under Chapter 325. Employee solicitors and employee adjusters each need their own $1,000 bond in addition to the firm’s $10,000 filing when the statute’s employee-bond language applies.

How much is required

Section 325.020 establishes fixed amounts: $10,000 for the public adjuster license applicant and $1,000 for each employee engaged as a public adjuster or solicitor. Bonds are conditioned on a satisfactory accounting of funds received in settlement of losses or claims for insurance-policy holders.

How to get and file it

Complete Form MO 375-0033 (Public Adjuster Bond) with an authorized surety in the exact licensed name, and file it with the public-adjuster application or renewal materials the department requires. Use the online public-adjuster application path when available. Keep the bond in force while licensed. The surety may cancel after thirty days’ notice to the director and is then relieved of liability for breaches that occur after the cancellation effective date. Claims cannot exceed the bond amount.

Cost note

The $10,000 and $1,000 figures are the required bond amount, not the premium you pay. See bond amount vs premium. Bond amount vs premium →
