Keep continuous while the electrical contractor license stays active
Businesses engaging in the electrical construction trade need an electrical contractor license from L&I, an assigned certified electrical administrator or master electrician, and this $4,000 bond. It does not replace chapter 18.27 contractor registration when that registration also applies to the work you perform.
RCW 19.28.041 establishes a fixed $4,000 bond for electrical contractor licensing. The L&I electrical/telecommunications bond form requires that same amount. There is no general/specialty schedule on this bond.
Have a surety authorized for Washington surety business complete form F500-019-000 (or arrange an assignment of savings). File the original bond with Electrical Licensing—L&I does not treat copies or faxes as the filed original. Keep an administrator or master electrician assigned so the license stays valid. The bond must remain in full force while the license is active. Cancellation, revocation, or surety withdrawal suspends the license until a new $4,000 bond is filed and approved. L&I may suspend when the bond or assigned administrator requirements lapse.

No. The electrical/telecommunications bond is for chapter 19.28 licensing. Contractor registration under RCW 18.27 uses a different continuous bond with $30,000 / $15,000 faces when registration is required.
$30,000 general / $15,000 specialty
Construction contractors who register with Labor & Industries must keep a Continuous Contractor Surety Bond on file. RCW 18.27.040 establishes the amounts—$30,000 for general contractors and $15,000 for specialty contractors—on one L&I-approved registration bond form.
$6,000
Licensed plumbing contractors in Washington must keep a $6,000 continuous surety bond on file with Labor & Industries. RCW 18.106.410 establishes that face; L&I’s Continuous Plumbing Contractor Surety Bond is the instrument used for this license—not the chapter 18.27 registration bond.
